    In hospitals, Mupirocin is often used to eliminate Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from the nasal passages of patients or healthcare workers, helping to prevent the spread of this difficult-to-treat bacterium.

  3. Post-surgical Infection Prevention
    Sometimes, it’s applied as a preventive measure before surgeries to reduce the risk of staph infections, especially in patients with compromised immune systems.

Mupirocin's uniqueness lies in its selective action and minimal resistance profile—though resistance can develop if misused.
